Actor Lena said she was waiting for PM Modi’s declaration when she announced her marriage to Gaganyaan astronaut Prasanth Nair

<p>On Tuesday night, Malayalam star Lena made a surprise revelation about her marriage to Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair. He is one of the four astronauts chosen for the Gaganyaan human spaceflight project by the Indian Space Research Organization. Lena said that on January 17, 2024, she married Prasanth.</p>

<p>Lena’s unexpected declaration<br />
One of the pilots receiving training for the mission is Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair, who was named by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. Lena posted photos from her traditional wedding ceremony on Instagram after sharing a sample of the official film. Lena and Captain Prasanth were shown grinning with their relatives while donning garlands.</p>
<p>She started the caption, saying, “Our Prime Minister, Modi ji, awarded Indian Air Force Fighter Pilot, Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair, the First Indian Astronaut Wings today, February 27, 2024. It is a momentous day for me personally, our nation, and the state of Kerala.</p>
<p>She said that she had been anticipating this announcement for the opportunity to convey the exciting news of her marriage. “In order to maintain the officially required confidentiality, I was waiting for this announcement to let you know that I got married to Prasanth on 17 January 2024 in a traditional ceremony through an arranged marriage.”</p>

The three astronauts who will be receiving training are Wing Commander Subhanshu Shukla, Group Captain Ajit Krishnan, and Group Captain Angad Pratap, in addition to Prasanth. The training will take place at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) in Thumba near Thiruvananthapuram. Gaganyaan is India’s first human space travel program. The Gaganyaan project, according to the ISRO, aims to demonstrate human spaceflight to Low Earth Orbit (LEO) in the near future and will eventually provide the groundwork for an ongoing Indian space exploration program.</p>
