The communications watchdog AGCOM said in a statement on Friday that Meta had been fined 5.85 million euros ($6.45 million) in relation to Facebook and Instagram pages and accounts, as well as sponsored material that advertised either betting or games with cash rewards.

Meta refrained from commenting right away.

AGCOM stated earlier this month that Alphabet Inc.’s YouTube and Amazon’s Twitch will be fined for violating the prohibition. The fines assessed to Twitch and YouTube were 900,000 and 2.25 million euros, respectively.
